Cátedra Santiago Grisolía
Doctor Santiago Grisolía, Príncipe de Asturias Award for Scientific and Technical Research and distinguished professor of the Department of Biochemistry of the University of Kansas Medical Center, is a renowned Valencian scientist of great international relevance through both his ground-breaking contributions in the field of enzymatic regulation and the work he has done to disseminate and socially integrate scientific-technological breakthroughs such as the Human Genome Project.
Through an Advisory Board made up of highly accredited professionals, the Santiago Grisolía Professorship annually gives the Santiago Grisolía Chair award to two especially outstanding international researchers in the field of scientific research, especially in Biomedicine and Neuroscience. Priority is given to research work which combines a high scientific level and great social interest at the same time.
The "Santiago Grisolía" professors annually give Master Courses allowing the latest progress in their fields of research to be passed on to the research, clinical and university community of both the Valencian Community and the rest of Spain.
In addition to the Master Courses, The Santiago Grisolía Chair organises other Symposia and international meetings in order to present the latest scientific and clinical progress made in different fields of Biomedicine and Neuroscience in the Valencian Community.
The director of Santiago Grisolia Chair is Dr Vicente Felipo(vfelipo@cipf.es), director of the laboratory of Neurobiology (www.neurocipf.es/web/neurocipf) at the Centro de Investigación Príncipe Felipe of Valencia.
